How to survive a hangover: our step by step guide

You spent hours getting ready, doing your hair and makeup, wrapping presents to perfection and sipping cocktails. Fast forward 12 hours and you’re in bed with a cracking headache. Uh oh! Did someone not follow our rules for drinking responsibly?

Here’s our guide on how to survive the day:

Step 1: Check your phone
We’ve all done it. But you may just want to see who you text when you were feeling super merry. (Was there someone you wanted to kiss under the mistletoe?) Also, did you ‘like’ every photo on Insta? LOL. As long as they were friendly messages, you’re A OK.

Step 2: Have a shower and brush your teeth
It’s time to wash off the night. There’s nothing a hot shower can’t fix. If you’ve got time, try a mini facial or scrub too to wash help remove any toxins.

Step 3: Drink water
Alcohol is super dehydrating. So you’ll need to replenish what you lost. FIll up your water bottle and carry it with you all day.

Step 4: Make a smoothie
Our legendary KIC Recovery Smoothie will help you feel alive  – we bet your body is just craving some nutrients and vitamins (it’s in the eBook on day 1). But if you’ve already made a few of these during the holidays (girl, don’t overdo the booze), we have some other show stoppers.

Try the Boost Two & Five Juice. As the name suggests, a glass of this miracle juice will fill you with a day’s worth of goodness. Or if it’s a super hot day, cure that hangover with our refreshing Raspberry & Chia Icy Poles.

Step 5: Eat a KIC-ass breakky
If you’ve woken up starving and you need to tame those tummy rumbles, you’ll totes need a big breakfast. And eggs! Eggs are chock full of hardworking amino acids like cysteine and taurine which boosts liver function to help you get back on track.

We recommend the Breakky Hash, Scrambled Eggs with Veggies or Poached Eggs with Avo Toast. Don’t forget to the put the kettle on!
